In the torrential rain a crowd of women marched toward Versailles demanding bread for there families. King Louis XVI agreed to meet with some of the women and give bread in Versailles to the crowd. As this was so early on in the revolution this was a massive event as it gave the revolutionaries a sense of power and confidence over King Louis XVI.
