22 mar 1765 ano - The Stamp Act
Descrição:
Passed by British Parliament in 1765 the Stamp Act was an attempt to gain money to protect the American Frontier near the Appalachian Mountains. The Stamp Act forced colonist to pay taxes on all printed paper. Because the Act was passed to raise money and not to regulate commerce the colonist were offended and saw this as an attempt for England to try and raise money without going through the colonial legislators. the Virginia Colony took a stand against this when they adopted the "Stamp Act Resolves" by Patrick Henry, which gave them the right to only be taxed by their representatives.
