A group of kids decided to oppose the Vietnam war by wearing black armbands to their school in Des Moines. The board had heard about it before it happened and created a policy that said anyone wearing it would be asked to remove it. If feel they didn't, they'd be expelled. After many dismissed cases, Tinker brought it to the Supreme Court. They decided that the students were denied their first amendment right.
