In 1497 John Cabot of Italy, took a voyage too Canada sponsored by King Henry the 7th of England. His original motive was to explore farther North from what Columbus found. He achieved being made an admiral for his heroic actions. An interesting fact about Cabot was that his birth name was Giovanni Caboto.
