About two months after her half-sister Mary I died, Elizabeth I had her coronation to become queen of England. Her ceremony was held at Westminster Abbey in London and was expensive, elegant and observed by many fans. About 16, 741 pounds was spent, which now would calculate to about 3.5 million pounds. To make a good impression on her new subjects, Elizabeth put on a show.
