No choice is without consequence. Sydon decided to stay on this planet for fear of the Matons reactivating in his body and destroying Earth. He begged the ARM team not to tell his wife what happened. The Maton integration in Sydon had unexpected side-effects, such as no long being dependant on oxygen, immune to disease, regeneration and theoretical immortality. ARM left Sydon an emergency craft and he was never heard from again.
Evelynn was told he was K.I.A.
She lived alone with Siri until she tragically passed away months later due to unknown causes. Sydon went to live with her parents until leaving for Mars.
