La Francophonie is an organization composed of former French colonies, and was established on March 20, 1970. Similarly to the Commonwealth, La Francophonie discusses the economic troubles of its members, and drives to reduce, or even resolve, them. Since Quebec was a former French colony, Canada is not only a part of the Commonwealth, but also La Francophonie.
