February 4th 1881
French Immigrants Pierre and Solène Martin and their three children were warmly welcomed into the Back Bay neighbourhood, July of last year. Neighbours spoke kindly of them and said they were an ideal family. Police are baffled as to why, in a tragic turn of criminal activity, Solène Martin, age 23, was murdered last night.
Pierre came home to find a quiet house, only to discover the mangled body of his wife drained in the bathtub, dead from multiple and sadistic stab wounds to her abdomen, a trail of blood leading from the nearby bedroom. Luckily his children were staying with family at the time. Police have investigated the house thoroughly and all entrances were secure. Nobody could have got in, unless they locked up behind themselves.
From the state of the body this was definitely a murder, not a suicide. Pierre is currently a primary suspect and is being held for questioning at the county jail. Police are looking into matters further and are doing all they can to make sure things like this don’t happen again.
Police are advising citizens in the area to lock their doors and be on alert.
