Iowa natives Christian Nielson and Russell Stover partner to create the ice cream treat known as an Eskimo pie. Stover would eventually sell his cut of the invention's profits and would create a candy business in his own name worth millions of dollars. When Stover died in 1954, his company produced 11 million pounds of candy per year. In 2017, the company was still doing well, and consumers voted their Pecan Delights Product of the Year 2017.
