8 jan 1887 ano - The Dawes Act Signed by the federal government. Authorized the government to split up tribal lands. Indians who accepted this were allowed to be US citizens. January 8 1887 Goal was to introduce the Indians in the US society Parts of the tribal culture and many tribes disappeared completely.
