millions of young men were employed for environmental project by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression. the CCC planted more than three billion trees and constructed trails and shelters in more than 800 parks nationwide during its nine years of existence.many of the national and state parks were shaped by the actions of the CCC.
