maverick, armed with his longbow and the amulet, managed to free ty, who fled the town. he went upstairs to witness calhoun murder his baby brother. maverick used the amulet to harbor camden's soul. calhoun let maverick go, stating that if anyone wanted to try and overthrow him again, they could see how maverick was suffering and think twice.

lucy was arrested for her involvement in the rebellion. her sister, ezra, attempted to cast feebleminded on her. lucy resisted. an hour later, ezra casted it again. lucy resisted once more. they threatened to kill poppop. ezra casted the spell and lucy resisted, but pretended it worked. she was dropped back off at the library's stairs.
