Franklin D. Roosevelt died on April 12, 1945, in Warm Springs, Georgia due to an intracerebral hemorrhage. Due to FDR's death, Harry Truman became the 33rd president of the United States. During his first few months in office he dropped an atomic bomb on Japan, which ended World War II.
