On Dec 7th, 1941 Japanese forces attacked the US naval base at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. This attack was the reason for the United States joining WWII, and this attack still holds a huge effect and huge impact on the country today. All eight US ships were damaged, and four of those ships sunk. The casualty rate was extremely high, and the relationship between the US and Japan was very shaky.
