This date is when the Revolutionary War starts. Lexington and Concord was to be attacked by the British, so they waited for them to come. When the British came to Lexington, they destroyed the colonists in numbers and marched to Concord. The British had to retreat to Boston because of the American militia that was waiting for them in Concord. The British then got ambushed on their way to Boston.
