in Montgomery, Alabama rosa parks was arrested for breaking Alabama segregation laws. rosa refused to give up her seat on the city bus to a white man leading to her arrest. on the day she was convicted the leaders of the local black community declare a boycott on the city buses. during the time she was convicted rosa lost her job because of the boycott and her actions. the bus boycott ended when the Supreme Court ruled the segregation laws on city buses were unconstitutional. parks became a symbol of strength and dignity to fight for the end of racial discrimination.
