This was signed into law by John F. Kennedy on June 10, 1963. It was an amendment to the Fair Labor Standards Act and it aimed to abolish the wage gap based on sex. While women's salaries have increased a fair amount since that time, the goals have not been completely achieved and there is still movement to achieving them.
