Proud leader and founder of the Alabama Christian Movement for Human Rights, Reverend Fred Shuttlesworth was a major influence on African Americans during the civil rights movement. The Klu Klux Klan bombed his house, hoping to destroy any last chances of him creating gains in civil rights for African Americans. However, the left him untouched, leaving him motivated to continue riding the public transportation and protesting.
