In 1963, the Equal Pay Act was signed into a law by President John F. Kennedy, and aimed to diminished the wage gap between both men and women. This act enabled equal pay for equal work, meaning if that a man and woman doing the same job, with the same skills and responsibilities should get the same pay. This act was apart of JFK’s New Frontier Program in 1963.
