Buck isn't the powerful, fun dog that he was when he lived on the estate. Because of the brutal force that the dog traders use, he has become hard and mean. His mouth foams and his eyes go red, experiencing true anger. He is also moved from Califronia to Alaska. While CAlifonia is warm in calm, Alaska is freezing and mercyiless. We can see that Buck mirrrors his enviornmetn.
