1 jan 1789 ano - The summoning of the Estates General.
Descrição:
Often marked as the start of the French revolution, the Estates general were called after not being called for 175 years because of France's severe crisis. The Estates general were comprised of the first estate ( the clergy) the second estate (the nobility), and the third estate (everybody else). The King came established a voting system for the meeting, but this was very inconvenient. Each estate counted as only one vote. The third estate making up approx. 98% of the population, they naturally thought this was unfair, considering that the first two, richer, estates could easily outvote them on any attempt of reform.
