MPD officer, Jerry Haaf, who had served on the force for thirty years and was retiring from in three months, was shot in the back "execution-style" by four gang members in a south Minneapolis Pizza Shack while on his morning coffee break. The men who killed him had allegedly been "looking for revenge against the Minneapolis Police Department." They received life sentences.
