The Mycenaean civilization originated and evolved in Greece towards the end of the Middle Bronze Age where a significant increase in the population and the number of settlements occurred.

Seemingly dominated by a warrior sopciety, this was the first major civilization of Greece and would be the basis for such legendary stories as the Trojan Wars.
