"Silcourt saw the modernization of Ichor Falls as the cause of its decline. The Adherents believed that modern ways created a schism between man and God, and that signs of modernity could be imbued with wickedness and had the taint of the devil about them. After repeated attempts at public mayhem and a manslaughter, Silcourt was executed in 1888 and the Adherents separated."
