The Iron curtain speech was given by Churchill at a college in Missouri. It included a metaphor of an "Iron Curtain" to describe the division that came upon europe, specifically between communism and the soviet union, and the West. This was the first acknowledgement of the cold war, and let to very heightened tensions.
