The Single European Act (Single Act - SEA) is signed on February 17, 1986, with the goal in mind of creating a Single European Market by the years leading up to 1992. The Act removes trade barriers within the EU, and the UK, under Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, plays a vitalrole in the negotiations.
