2 mar 1901 ano - Cuba / Platt Amendment
Descrição:
The Platt Amendment was a law passed in 1901 that gave the United States control over Cuba after the Spanish-American War.
Cuba had to allow the U.S. military to stay on the island and couldn’t make deals with other countries that might harm U.S. interests.
The U.S. could also step in to keep order in Cuba.
It allowed the U.S. to use land for military bases, like Guantanamo Bay.
It made Cuba less independent and more controlled by the U.S. until the amendment was repealed in 1934.
