19 jan 1755 ano - The Fall of Fort Louisburg

Descrição:

In 1756 the Seven Years War began with the French and the British. This was a massive war that included most of Europe, and some might say that this might’ve actually been the First World War. The British were losing, and so they decided to send more soldiers to New France. The British army under the command of James Wolfe had 190 ships, which included 40 man-o’-wars. They also sent 27,000 troops. The British were bombarding the fortress with their ships. James Wolfe was desperate for one last attack. The soldiers scrambled on land, which was considered unorthodox to do, and they started to attack the fortress. After only 49 days of attack. The British made the fortress fall. The French were thinking; why on Earth was the fortress built right on the beach. The British were confused why they didn’t fight in the European style.
