this is a crossover title between ace attorney and fellow nintendo DS series professor layton. it was written and designed as a sampler for both series', as it features mechanics and characters from both games. this game also served as ace attorney's proof of concept for being viable for the 3DS.

because this game has no real grounded reference for time/reality, nothing from it will go on this timeline. however, minor in-game details imply that it's set after ace attorney 3 (2019)
