Johannes Kepler (jan 1, 1571 – jan 1, 1630)
Description:
Kepler was able to use Tycho's data to create a model of the Solar System that was more accurate than Ptolemy's model and more accurate than Copernicus' model. This new model accounted for retrograde motion by stating that planets orbit in ellipses. The three laws he created are still used today.
