Description:
-1947, first documented in Uganda in Rhesus monkeys
-Identified in humans in 1952
-2007, first major outbreak on island of Yap with 200 people infected
-2013, outbreak of 35000 cases in French Polynesia
-Virus spread to Brazil, 4000 cases of microcephaly most likely linked to Zika
-Microcephaly caused by the brain stopping its growth in utero leading to small head size, and developmental disorders
-It can be sexually transmitted
-No cure for Zika
