Agricultural Revolution (jan 1, 1750 – dec 31, 1880)

Description:

The Agricultural Revolution was the revolution that completely changed agriculture forever. Before the Agricultural Revolution, many people worked on farms and a three-crop rotation system was used where two crops would be planted on two fields and one field would be left empty for animals to graze on and fertilize. However, the Dutch created a system known as the four-crop rotation system after discovering that a type of vegetable known as legumes could fertilize soil as well, and this new system increased productivity and more crop yields.
Also, with the invention of machines such as Jethro Tull's seed drill, the need for workers on the farm was decreased. Farming land was soon enclosed and made private to the farmer, making it so peasants moved to more urban areas like mass cities to find new jobs in places such as factories.
