Progressive Education Movement (jan 1, 1920 – jan 1, 0)
Description:
Laws began to be passed requiring children to go to school until they are at least 16 years old. During the Progressive Education Movement focus was put on the individual needs of students. This movement was fueled by admirers of John Dewey. Counselors were put in schools during the 1930's to take care of the mental well-being of students. Counselors are still used now, but for more then just mental health.
