The Ottoman Empire had many people that had different cultures, spoke many different languages, had many different nationalities, and practiced many religions. But, because of the different languages/nationalities, from 1829-1922, Greece, Romania, Serbia, Albania, and Bulgaria separated from the Ottoman Empire.
