Age of Imperialism (jan 1, 1500 – dec 31, 1901)
Description:
British companies set up trading posts all around the world. These posts would hold a large power and would thereby expand the British Empire, eventually making it the most powerful nation on earth ruling over about a quarter of the world's population. Over time after the Age of Imperialism colonies would become independent.
