Falklands/Malvinas War (apr 2, 1982 – jun 14, 1982)
Description:
A war between Argentina and Britain over the Falkland Islands.
Argentina claimed the Falkland islands since the 19th C. but Britain took the Islands in 1833.
In 1982, Argentina went ahead and invaded the Falkland islands in which Britain occupied. Britain rapidly responded by sending warships. Argentina's air force became a threat and the Britain's Navy lost a lot of ships.
British ships landed on May 2 and were able to push back against Argentina.
Argentina surrendered on June 14.
