Chinese Civil War (apr 1, 1927 – may 1, 1950)
Description:
After the fall of the Qin Dynasty, there was a power vacuum. As a result, the Chinese Civil War was a struggle of control between the Nationalist under Chiang Kai-shek and the Communists under Mao Zedong.
Over the course of 10 years, Mao Zedong led the fighting against the Nationalist while Chiang Kai-shek led to get rid of the Communist Party.
During WWII, the two parties joined forces to defeat the Japanese from their homeland.
By 1948, the Communist Party gained popularity. In 1949 they are able to capture Beijing and declare victory.
