Bacon's Rebellion (jan 1, 1664 – jan 1, 1711)
Description:
An armed uprising by Virginia settlers, led by Nathaniel Bacon against Governor William Berkeley. Driven by high taxes, low tobacco prices, and lack of protection from Native American raids, frontier settlers—including former indentured servants—rebelled against the elitist government. The conflict saw Jamestown burned before fading after Bacon’s death.
