First Binary Electronic Digital Calculating Device developed (jan 1, 1942 – jan 1, 0)
Description:
John Atanasoff and Clifford Berry from Iowa State University developed the Atanasoff-Berry Computer (ABC). This computer had electromechanical control and electronic calculations, thus making it semi-electronic. Unfortunately, the paper card reader technology it used was unreliable and in June 1942 the tests for the ABC deemed it as unsuccessful so the computer was not completed and was abandoned
