Description:
A key figure in the French Revolution, was a clergyman and political theorist who championed the Third Estate and advocated for popular sovereignty. His influential pamphlet, "What Is the Third Estate?" (1789), argued that the Third Estate, representing the vast majority of the French population, should have the right to draft a new constitution.
