Andreas Vesalius (dec 31, 1514 – oct 15, 1564)
Description:
A Renaissance anatomist and physician, known for his pioneering work in anatomy and his revolutionary textbook, De humani corporis fabrica (On the Structure of the Human Body). He is often considered the founder of modern anatomy. Vesalius's work challenged the prevailing anatomical knowledge of the time, which was based on the writings of Galen, and instead relied on his own dissections and observations.
