Charles V of France (jan 1, 1338 – jan 1, 1380)
Description:
Known as "the Wise," reigned from 1364 to 1380. He was the eldest son of John II and Bonne de Luxembourg. Charles V is best known for his successful efforts during the Hundred Years' War to regain territory lost to England, reversing some of the earlier setbacks. He also stabilized the French economy and centralized the kingdom, leaving a stable throne for his son.
