The Battle of the Bulge, also known as the Ardennes Offensive, was a major German offensive in World War II that took place from December 16, 1944, to January 25, 1945, in the Ardennes region of Belgium and Luxembourg. It was Hitler's last major offensive on the Western Front and aimed to split the Allied forces and capture the port of Antwerp. While the Germans initially achieved some success, the Allied counterattack eventually pushed them back to their starting positions.
