Description:
The Vietnam War happened in present-day Vietnam in Southeast Asia. This was generally viewed as an indirect conflict between the United States and the Soviet Union which each nation and their allies supporting one side. This war was an important example of the Domino theory, which suggested that if one country was to be under the influence of Communism then the surrounding countries would follow in a domino effect. This war also highlighted the failure of containment of Communism.
