First Duma (apr 27, 1906 – jun 1, 1906)
Description:
Instead of serving the full five-year term, the Duma was dismissed after only months for its
radical demands.
- consisted mostly of liberals/reformists
- Fundamental State Laws reinstated autocratic power
- bi-cameral governnment --> Tsar instated a second chamber that had veto powers (essentially made legislative powers redundant)
- in response to dismissal Vyborg Appeal occurred
