THE NORTH'S ANACONDA PLAN
- Included a naval blockade to shut out Euro. supplies and exports, a campaign to take the Miss. River (splitting the South), and targeting Southing cities in hopes that pro-Unionists would rise up and overthrow the secession
- Blockade and taking of the Miss. were successful
