Prague Spring and Soviet Invasion (jan 4, 1968 – aug 21, 1968)
Description:
For four months when Czechoslovakia broke away from Soviet rule it was known as the Prague spring.
-Freedom of speech was allowed and some state controls were removed.
-It was under the leadership of Alexander Dubcek.
-Alexander Dubcek was later removed from power.
-After the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia it returned to communist control.
-Also Russia stayed in control behind the Iron Curtain, and increased the tensions of the Cold War.
