Stamp Act passed (jan 1, 1765 – jan 1, 1765)
Description:
The Stamp Act was a way that the British tried to tax the colonies more and take more money from them. Basically how it worked is that whenever the people from the colonies had to buy anything or do anything they had to buy a stamp for it. basically working as a extra layer of tax but with stamps. The patriots were not happy about this act and rebelled heavily against the british. Eventually they removed the act because of the uproar it caused from the colonies.
