The Enablement of the Emancipation Proclamation (jan 1, 1863 – jan 1, 1863)
Description:
This document signed by President Abraham Lincoln. It details that all slaves in all areas of the Confederate States Of America are therefore free. Unfortunately, this proclamation of freedom for slaves doesn't apply to the states still in the Union. The effects of this proclamation caused riots in the North, and supporters of the document would feel it would shorten the war.
