The Korean War ( Yumiko ) (jun 25, 1950 – jul 27, 1993)
Description:
In 1945, Korea had been divided into two, along the 38th parallel. North Korea was followed by the Soviet Union while the South was with the Americans. On June 25, 1950 Kim Il-sung took the chance to invade South Korea. They used tanks to run over and 75,000 army to attack the South. Canadian aircraft provided transport, supplies and 26,791 Canadians to serve the South. 516 Canadian soldiers died. The war came to an end in July 27, 1953. Around 5 million citizens and soldiers lost their lives.
